John Muir Side Chair

The John Muir Side Chair was designed to emphasize and demonstrate the environmental-friendly nature of Old Hickory Furniture. John Muir was one of America's foremost conservationists, a champion of the National Park movement, and founder of the Sierra Club. The John Muir collection uses only 2" or smaller hickory saplings, which usually renew themselves within 10 years in a forest. The seat foam and finish are also "Green". Hand-crafted and assembled using Hickory saplings (from the Tennessee Valley) for superior strength and durability, all of which are 2" or less in diameter and regenerate in around 10 years.
